life is rad

i'm realizing more and more each day how lucky i am. i have an amazing wife who makes each day a blast. my job is incredible. i have the rare opportunity to use my degree for god's work. my wife works for the same company, and we get to enjoy lunch together nearly every single day. we live 3 miles from work. we live in a beautiful part of the world and no longer have to dodge spokies every time we go out. i am very blessed.

everyday i learn more about who god has created me to be. he is opening my eyes to what it truly is to be a christian, and i am enjoying challenging the ideals of the "americanized" church. he has called me to world vision where i have met so many incredible people. yesterday, i met a woman who works in our d.c. office and is originally from uganda. her father is a muslim, and her mother used to be one of his five wives. while she and her mother are christian now, she has 49 brothers and sisters from her muslim father!!! anyway, god is doing good things in my life.

side notes:

  • the ram on ruston way is a great place for sports
  • the buttface amber ale at the ram is amazing
  • i am growing more disgusted with our christmas materialism
  • last week i had a white trash moment when i purchased a raspberry danish at the walmart super-store and ate it in line

blog?

my love of opining and blathering is no secret, so i figured i should channel it in a way that doesn't require constant attention from a live human...specifically my wife. keeping her happy is a good thing, and she is far from content if she acts as my audience 24/7. thus the blog.

hopefully this will be a worthwhile endeavor, one that allows you as my friends to see more into the journey i'm on and participate in that journey! looking forward to it.
